Let visitors read the whole popup and reach its final action

A popup may fit on desktop but exceed a small screen's height without a usable internal scroll area. Its last paragraph or closing actions become unreachable.

What to change

Ask your supplier to keep long popup content scrollable and all its actions reachable when the available screen height is small.

A worked example

Illustrative example

A visitor reads a long explanation in a panel, reaches its final confirmation control and can still return to the beginning without moving the page behind it.

Why this matters to your practice

Long explanations often outgrow the space available inside a popup. The visitor must still be able to read the ending and reach the final action. Ask your supplier to demonstrate the longest real content on a short screen, with larger text and any expanded help visible. Watch which area scrolls: moving the page behind the popup is unlikely to help. If the panel becomes cumbersome, consider whether a normal page would present the information more comfortably.

A practical review example

A short information panel may become much longer after a help section opens or a correction appears. Ask your supplier to demonstrate the longest real version on a phone and with enlarged text. Scroll to the ending, then reach its final action by keyboard. Watch that the panel itself moves usefully rather than the dimmed page behind it. The visitor should also retain a clear closing route, with any fixed popup header or footer leaving the focused content visible rather than covering it.

How to check the result

Accept when all popup information and actions are reachable with a coherent scroll experience at the agreed supported sizes.

A mistake to avoid

Setting a maximum height without arranging a usable overflow area can simply cut off the content that no longer fits.
