What to change
Ask your supplier to identify the item causing extra page width and adapt it without hiding meaningful text, links or controls.
A worked example
Illustrative example
A long resource link wraps within its card rather than widening every paragraph on the page beyond the phone screen.

Why this matters to your practice
If ordinary paragraphs require sideways scrolling on a phone, something on the page is probably wider than the available space. It might be a long address, a table or a booking widget. Ask the supplier to identify the cause rather than simply hide the overflowing area. Hiding it can also hide a useful action. Your practical acceptance check is to read and use the page at a narrow width without repeatedly moving sideways to finish ordinary sentences.
A practical review example
A long website address inside one resource card may widen the entire page on a phone. Ordinary paragraphs then require sideways movement to finish each line. Ask the supplier to demonstrate the exact source of that width and its correction. Check a long error message and an embedded tool afterwards, since another example may expose the same weakness. A genuinely wide table can have its own clear movement, while the surrounding explanation remains comfortable to read within the available screen.
How to check the result
Accept when ordinary content fits the reading width and any necessary horizontal scrolling is limited to a clearly identified component.
A mistake to avoid
Hiding all horizontal overflow can conceal controls or text instead of resolving the component that made the page too wide.
