What to change
Ask the supplier to provide a clear way past optional sections while keeping the meaning of a skipped section distinct from a completed or submitted request.
A worked example
Illustrative example
A visitor skips an optional additional-information section and reaches review. The review says no additional information was supplied rather than showing an unexplained answer checking warning.

Why this matters to your practice
An optional section can still become a barrier if skipping it triggers errors. Decide whether partly entered answers should be kept or discarded, then make that choice clear before the visitor skips. For instance, someone may begin an additional-information section and decide they have nothing useful to add. They should not have to finish invented answers to move on. Ask your supplier to show the resulting review page so you can check that the practice receives the intended information.
How to check the result
Accept when skipping works from both untouched and partly completed states, with a consistent and understandable result at review.
A mistake to avoid
A skip link that secretly submits partial invalid content can produce a different problem from the one the visitor intended to avoid.
