What to change
Ask the supplier to allow ordinary copying and pasting where people enter contact details or references, with clear checks that preserve what they meant to enter.
A worked example
Illustrative example
A visitor pastes a long referral reference from a message and corrects one character. The field does not clear itself or demand manual re-entry.

Why this matters to your practice
People often copy an email address or reference from a message to avoid typing it incorrectly. Preventing that familiar action can turn a short form into a frustrating exercise. Ask why any paste restriction exists and who has accepted the extra effort it creates. Your practical test is straightforward: the same fictional answer should work whether typed or pasted. The visitor must still have a chance to check it, particularly if a copied address belongs to somebody else.
A practical review example
A long reference copied from an appointment message can be easier to enter accurately than one typed character by character. Test pasting it on a phone, then correcting a single character in the middle. The visitor should remain in control of the answer. Ask the supplier how extra spaces at the edges are handled and show the final received value. Helpful tidying must not remove meaningful parts of the reference or replace it with an older version.
How to check the result
Accept when ordinary clipboard entry works and any cleanup preserves the meaningful content, with answer checking explained at the affected field.
A mistake to avoid
Do not use the ability to paste as a substitute for clear review of an address or other consequential detail.
