Ask for public proof that listing corrections worked

A handover lists completed profile updates but provides only screenshots of the editing interface.

What to change

Accept corrections based on the public journey they were meant to improve. Ask for exact profile links and sample them independently, following the website action through its final destination. Return mismatches with a precise correction request instead of disputing the entire report vaguely. Where changes remain pending, require an honest status and follow-up owner. This gives the practice a reproducible acceptance process without assuming that every submitted edit has already reached visitors.

A worked example

Illustrative example

Illustrative test: A reviewer reproduces three reported corrections using only the handover information. Include a record from a less familiar directory so the sample is not limited to the easiest edits. A handover may claim several directory updates are complete while showing only editing screens. The reviewer follows three exact public records, including a less familiar directory, and finds one still pending. The completed corrections remain accepted, while the unresolved record keeps a precise destination request and named owner. This makes review reproducible and proportionate without rejecting the entire report or treating submitted changes as already visible to visitors.

What this means for your practice

Screenshots of edit forms show what a supplier intended to change. They do not prove what visitors now receive. Ask the handover to include exact public profile links and independently sample the reported corrections. Follow each website action through to its final destination. Include a less familiar directory, not only the easiest records to update. Where a result remains wrong or pending, return a precise issue naming the expected and observed destinations. This keeps the review practical and fair: verified work can be accepted while unresolved items retain an owner. Another colleague should be able to repeat the check using the handover alone.

How to check the result

The sampled completion claims are independently reproducible.
