What to change
A missing guide can reveal a gap in the inventory rules rather than an isolated omission. Ask the supplier which source list or directory determines inclusion, then compare several articles with the same route pattern. Fix the selection rule and test the next normal publication cycle. The practice should receive evidence that future eligible guides in that location will be included automatically, without recurring manual sitemap edits.
A worked example
Illustrative example
Illustrative test: Add a harmless test resource under the newly supported route pattern. A new batch of guides may use a directory the sitemap generator does not yet recognise. Instead of manually inserting their addresses into the finished file, the supplier corrects the inclusion rule and publishes a harmless test resource through the normal route. Your review confirms it appears automatically. That evidence addresses the next publication as well as today's missing entries, reducing the need for editors to remember a separate cleanup step.

What this means for your practice
A guide can appear in the visible library while being omitted from the sitemap, the list offered to search engines. If several new guides share that problem, the inventory may not recognise their directory or publishing route. Ask your supplier to trace the rule that decides what is included. Your team should confirm which material is intended for public discovery. Then test a normal new publication through the corrected process. Manually adding one address to the finished file is less useful if the next rebuild removes it again. The acceptance evidence should show that future eligible guides in that location are included without recurring intervention.
How to check the result
Eligible new resources appear automatically after regeneration.
A mistake to avoid
A one-off edit to generated XML may disappear on the next build.
