Close the phone menu after a visitor chooses a destination

A menu overlay can remain open after a page or section link is activated. Visitors arrive at the destination but still see the navigation covering it.

What to change

Ask the supplier to complete menu navigation by revealing the selected page or section and letting the visitor interact with it immediately.

A worked example

Illustrative example

Selecting Contact from the mobile menu reveals the contact section and restores ordinary page scrolling. The visitor can immediately continue toward the contact options.

Why this matters to your practice

Choosing a destination should finish the menu's job. If the menu still covers the contact page, a visitor may assume nothing happened and keep tapping. Ask your supplier to demonstrate both ordinary page links and links to sections on the same page. After either action, the destination should be visible and ready to use. Include a keyboard demonstration: hiding the menu visually is not enough if the next action still operates a link inside that closed panel.

How to check the result

Accept when all supported menu destinations complete navigation cleanly and no invisible layer blocks the resulting page.

A mistake to avoid

Removing the visible panel without removing its transparent backdrop can leave a page that looks usable but ignores taps.
