Make resource cards open the article they name

A reusable resource card displays different article names but carries one copied destination. The library looks diverse while navigation repeats.

What to change

Existence checks cannot detect a card that points to the wrong valid article. Ask the supplier to test the relationship between each displayed title, its configured destination and the final article heading. Include cards from later archive pages because repeated components can carry copied values. The correction should happen in the card data source so the same mismatch cannot return during routine regeneration.

A worked example

Illustrative example

Illustrative test: Open three neighbouring cards and compare the destination headings with their labels. Three neighbouring library cards might have different titles but all open the first article because a destination was copied. A reviewer opens each card and records the promised and actual headings. The supplier repairs the data source, rebuilds the collection and samples later pages too. Acceptance is the correct title-to-article relationship, which a simple check for successful responses could never establish on its own.

What this means for your practice

A card may show the right heading and image while linking to a different, perfectly working guide. Automated checks that only look for broken destinations will not catch that mismatch. Ask your supplier to compare the displayed title, intended address and final article heading together. Sample neighbouring cards and later library pages, where copied settings can be less noticeable. Your content team can confirm the intended destination without inspecting code. The repair should happen in the card's source data and be applied across the affected collection. Revisit the library after rebuilding it to ensure the same incorrect destination has not been copied back into place.

How to check the result

Every sampled card leads to the article it names, including later archive pages.

A mistake to avoid

Checking only whether destinations exist misses this kind of routing error.
