What to change
Ask your supplier to place a clear transcript route beside the video independently of the player's successful loading, with content checked against the recording.
A worked example
Illustrative example
A visitor whose browser blocks the video embed can still open the associated transcript from a normal link immediately below the media area.

Why this matters to your practice
A transcript can offer the information in a video without requiring playback. Place its route where visitors can find it even if the player fails to load. Ask your supplier to demonstrate that failure and open the transcript separately. The practice should check that the text actually matches the recording and identifies any important visual context. A link hidden inside the video player's menu is less dependable when that same player is the part that has stopped working.
A practical review example
A visitor on a poor connection may encounter a failed player but still need the practical information in a preparation video. Ask your supplier to demonstrate that state and open the transcript without using the player menu. Your team should compare the text with the recording and include important visual context where needed. A separately reachable transcript gives a usable alternative, while a link hidden inside the broken component would depend on the same failure being resolved before the visitor could continue.
How to check the result
Accept when the text alternative is independently reachable and identifiable even when media scripts, playback or external embeds are unavailable.
A mistake to avoid
Placing a transcript somewhere in a general downloads library can leave visitors unable to identify which document belongs to the video they encountered.
